Julie joined VanderPloeg, Bergakker & Associates in March of 2006.  After graduating from Western Michigan University in May of 2000 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy, Julie went into private industry.  Julie spent five years at a local manufacturing company having performed accounting, payroll & human resources and one year at a local payroll processing firm having earned a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.  It is this blend of first hand experience as part of a company and also as a third party that Julie can empathize with the client and assist in a broad range of accounting and payroll services.  She is also a resource for QuickBooks related and other technical questions.

Having grown up in the Upper Peninsula, Julie enjoys being outdoors and on adventures whether it be out hiking with her border collie/lab mix Drake, bicycling or kayaking to the adrenaline of  white water rafting or canyoning excursions she and her husband Jon participate in on their travels.  She enjoys photographing these experiences and immersing herself in the local cultures.
