Many non-profit organizations such as hospitals, zoos and humane societies use large numbers of volunteers.  To manage their volunteer database, many choose to use our client, Volgistics.  The concept is quite unique in that everything is done online from any internet connected computer.  The database is therefore centralized which allows coordinators and volunteers the ability to access the information they have rights to at any time and from anywhere.

Offering volunteer management software in a “cloud” based environment allows for better integration.  For example, if you wanted to volunteer at your local hospital, you might visit the hospital’s website first and then follow a link to an online application form.  Without knowing it, you’ve now entered the Volgistics site.  On your application, you tell the organization what days and times of day you’re available to work and provide information to determine what duties you’d be qualified for.  After the application is accepted and the orientation procedures are complete, you’d be able to self-schedule for certain schedule openings.  When coordinators find an unfilled opening, they can quickly mine the database to find suitable candidates, flag them and send them all an email requesting that someone fill the opening.  Gone are the days of coordinators spending countless hours on the phone trying to find volunteers or spending valuable hours compiling service hour reports.
