We are not a company but three men that have a desire to use our time and resources to give back to our city, in the name of Jesus, some of what we have been blessed with ourselves.

The specific purposes of the corporation are:

1. To receive and administer funds, perform services, and to engage in activities in order to share the love of Jesus Christ with at-risk adolescents.  We aim to help these kids see their innate talent and gifts they possess and how they can develop these qualities in order to be successful in life.

2. To do anything necessary, related, incidental or appropriate to the implementation of the foregoing.

We have modeled our non-profit after other successful groups that are bringing the love of Jesus to the disadvantaged in West Michigan and have sought out the wise council of several elders of our city in doing so. Steve, Mark and I named our 501(c)(3) The Cord Group based upon the verse in Ecclesiastes 4:12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not easily broken. The power of having two other men in agreement over any issue is a model we think Jesus set up with His disciples. 

We have seen the potential our city has in creating the Medical Mile, the rebirth of our downtown area, our legacy of philanthropy and we know that the most valuable resource in our community is the youth.  We are burdened that in order to truly have a healthy city, our youth have to be engaged.
